After a quick but heavy hail storm this morning we had a little flurry of snow. It didn't last long though, which was lucky as we went out this afternoon to the museum. It has recently been renovated & we were all impressed with the new layout.
There's far to much to see in one visit so we focused on the Egyptian & Design exhibits. I love little things like fossils, carvings & jewellry. Having studied bent wood furniture this semester at university it was fascinating to see the sarcophagi knowing how they were made & that the Ancient Egyptians were one of the first to bend wood. Found these festive pieces of tableware from the mid 1800s too, plan to add this photo to my album page for today.
