Not quite

Took inspiration from this week's twisted sketch but didn't add the twist unfortunately. I had it in mind to use fabric somewhere on my LO but it looks complete as it is and I don't want to add some fabric just for the sake of it so will have to settle for a half completed challenge.
Bought Theo a new add-on for his cage last month. We weren't sure if he would like it but he does seem to enjoy sleeping in there so it'd being used. We got him an exercise ball this weekend & he loved it so need to scrap some photos of that soon.

I used my Cricut DS to cut the label shape & a smaller mask then inked over the mask with my favourite distress ink, Broken China, to create the darker border with the pattern showing through.

Such a long time ago

Dream Girls challenge #31 called for an old photo so I went back 23 years to my Christening Day. The photo is of me with my parents, I have added the journaling in pen now I checked some details with my mum but it was only written in pencil when the photo was taken so doesn't show well (it's in the bottom right corner).

The sketch as part of the challenge was really good & suited my style well. The DT work is excellent too so well worth checking out. Love my Martha Stewart 3-in-1 butterfly punch, those little butterflies are the perfect finishing touch to most LOs & by folding the wings up it adds some extra dimension.

Favourite thing about where I live

Spend the day at home today & that's something I really enjoy doing. A day free from the other responsibilities of life, where I can just be myself & not worry about other things (too much!) Created this LO all about these feelings, prompted by catalyst 69 at Creative Therapy.

Another busy week

My blog's been negleted this week as I've had so much on. Managed to fit in some scrapping though & got a new set of photos developed so that was exciting. I'm so impatient when it comes to waiting for new photos. Got lots of projects planned for them & already completed a few but behind on uploading them too this week.

Did upload a few though. This is my LO for the Method Playground challenge. I used two different sized chipboard frames as templates for my stitching. I just love this photo of my parents taken before I was born as they look so happy & in love. Used my Lily Bee rub-ons but altered them to fit better with my title. Love Lily Bee products & their rub-ons work so well unlike some other brands. There are lots of little birds on the sheet too & I must admit to saving those for a special project as they are so sweet.
Also completed this week's Pencil Lines sketch using some older Urban Rhapsody & newer My Little Shoebox.Only one week now until we go to Germany. Made these little cards with a Hero Arts set & hid one in my mum's handbag as a surprise for her when she got to work yesterday. Know she's excited about only having a week left to work & finally getting some time to relax.

Scrap Like You Mean It challenge this week was to tell a happy story. I don't have many photos with my Great Auntie Betty as she lives in Texas but I've always wanted to record how her writing always made me laugh when I was younger. Although she has a beautiful, loopy style of handwriting, her ls look like ds, turning lots of love into dots of dove!

I used BG Lemonade papers for this LO. Ever ordered somthing then found it looks totally different IRL? That's the mistake I made with the strawberry dots paper, I would never have bought this from a store. However, when I make a mistake like this I'm even more determined to use whatever it is up faster. It actually looks OK behind the photo here & leads your eye in as it matches Auntie Betty's sweater. I spent ages hand-cutting all the vines but it was worth it for the effect.
The title is cut from Black Magic cardstock with my Oppsites Attract cartridge & the edges were sanded. I stamped the vines & bird with Hero Arts stamps.

Life as I imagined?

Prompt 68 at Creative Therapy this week got me thinking of all the unexpected things that have happened in my life. If you had told me 10 years ago what I my life would be like today I don't know if I would have believed it, things certainly didn't turn out how I planned. Some things I would have done differently but I do believe in fate & that things are as they were meant to be. Life's just full of surprises, some to delight us, some to challenge us. Either way they alter our character & how we percieve the world around us. I created this LO in response to the prompt, my journaling is hidden in the little sewn pocket.
